birth + postpartum doula support

A birth and postpartum doula is a trained professional who provides physical, emotional, and informational support throughout pregnancy, labor, birth, and the early postpartum period. While every pregnancy and birth is unique, one thing remains constant: you deserve to feel supported, informed, and genuinely cared for as you move through this profound transition.  At ALLORA, our doula support is rooted in presence, grounded guidance, and a deep trust in your body’s innate wisdom. We hold space for you and your growing family from the very beginning—whether you’re preparing for your first birth, navigating  growing your family, or seeking a calm, supported postpartum experience.

Our role is to help you feel empowered, prepared, and connected. We offer evidence-based information, emotional steadiness, comfort techniques, and continuous support that honors both the physiology of birth and the emotional landscape that comes with it. From birth planning to labor support to postpartum nourishment, we walk alongside you with compassion, clarity, and care. Whether you envision an unmedicated birth, plan to use pain management, or simply want a grounded, knowledgeable presence by your side, your doula is here to help you move through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum with confidence, connection, and a sense of being truly held.

doula support packages

A doula is for everyone. No matter what stage of life you’re in, a doula can be your guide, your advocate, and your unwavering support during both challenging and transformative moments.

We believe that holistic care is key to embracing change and moving forward.

proudly supporting families across the region and (beyond)

ALLORA provides doula support for families birthing at any hospital, birth center, or with a homebirth midwife within a 30-mile radius of Pittsburgh, PA. In addition to these primary locations, we also support births with homebirth midwifery practices and any provider serving the Pittsburgh area.

Wherever you choose to birth, a doula is continuous and grounded support - centered on your needs.

the impact of doula support

Birth is profound — physically, emotionally, and energetically. When birthing people feel supported, informed, and grounded, labor often unfolds with more ease and clarity. Continuous doula support has been shown to make a meaningful difference across diverse bodies, identities, births, and care settings.

Large reviews of thousands of births show that people who receive continuous support from a doula are:

These findings mirror what many families share after birth — that having a steady, compassionate support person by their side helps them feel safer, more confident, and more connected to their own strength.

A doula doesn’t replace your partner or your provider.

A doula stands with you — centering your voice, tending to your nervous system, offering comfort and clarity, and supporting you through every phase of your birth.

virtual perinatal movement

Movement matters- especially for pregnant people. In these yoga and movement sessions, we review any specific areas of the mind, body, and soul the pregnant person wishes to focus on. Then we go through a yoga and mediation practice customized to the pregnant persons needs.

For example, class focus can be: focus on spine and back due to added weight of carrying baby, sciatic pain, prepare the lower body and hips to labor, etc.

rituals to support your birth + postpartum journey

Birth is a threshold — not just a moment in time, but a transition of identity, body, spirit, and family. At ALLORA, we honor this transformation through rituals that support grounding, integration, and emotional closure. These ceremonial offerings can be woven into your doula journey or experienced on their own.

Nascita Ritual → A pre-birth ceremony that celebrates and prepares the pregnant person as they move toward parenthood.

Closing of the Bones → A postpartum integration ritual that supports healing, grounding, and closure after birth.
